Psalm 148

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens:
praise him in the heights.
Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above
the heavens.
Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and
they were created.
He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a
decree which shall not pass.
Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps :
Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his
word :
Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:
Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of
the earth:
Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is
excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his
saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 18A

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament
sheweth his handywork. "
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth
knowledge.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the
end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and
rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto
the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

(Sirac 2 1-11)

1 - My son, if thou come to serve the Lord, prepare thy soul for
temptation.
2 - Set thy heart aright, and constantly endure, and make not haste
in time of trouble.
3 - Cleave unto him, and depart not away, that thou mayest be
increased at thy last end.
4 - Whatsoever is brought upon thee take cheerfully, and be patient
when thou art changed to a low estate.
5 - For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of
adversity.
6 - "Believe in him, and he will help thee; order thy way aright, and
trust in him. "
7 - "Ye that fear the Lord, wait for his mercy; and go not aside, lest
ye fall. "
8 - "Ye that fear the Lord, believe him; and your reward shall not
fail. "
9 - Ye that fear the Lord, hope for good, and for everlasting joy
and mercy.
10 - "Look at the generations of old, and see; did ever any trust in
the Lord, and was confounded? or did any abide in his fear, and
was forsaken? or whom did he ever despise, that called upon him?"
11 - For the Lord is full of compassion and mercy, longsuffering,
and very pitiful, and forgiveth sins, and saveth in time of affliction.

Psalm 22

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside
the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I
will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:

For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God

Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my

For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my
soul from the lowest hell.
O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of
violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before
them.
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious,
longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength
unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see
it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and
comforted me.

Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.
While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness:
according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be
clear when thou judgest.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering
then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Psalm 41

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God,
with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Psalm 130

LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.
Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.

Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; "
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

Jude 1, 20,25

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
"O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. "

Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
