of St Patrick (Ve BC) (extrait, 2d part) All : ..."Christ
to shield me todayAgainst poison, against burning,
 Against drowning, against wounding,
So that there may come to me abundance of reward.
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
 I
          arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
 Through belief in the threeness,
 Through confession of the oneness,
 Of the Creator of Creation."

"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come.
And let him that is athirst come.
And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. "

"Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus." (Ap 22, 20)

            | Psalm
                148 Praise
ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens:praise him in the heights.
Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of
                light.
Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be
                above
 the heavens.
Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded,
                and
 they were created.
 He
hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a
 decree which shall not pass.
Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps :
Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his
 word :
Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:
Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of
 the earth:
Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
 Let
them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is
excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his
saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him.
                Praise ye the LORD.

 | Psalm
                18A The
heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmamentsheweth his handywork. "
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth
 knowledge.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not
                heard.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their
                words to the
end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and
rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
 His
going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto
the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

            | (Sirac
                2 1-11) 1
                - My son, if thou come to serve the Lord, prepare thy soul fortemptation.
2 - Set thy heart aright, and constantly endure, and make not
                haste
 in time of trouble.
3 - Cleave unto him, and depart not away, that thou mayest be
 increased at thy last end.
4 - Whatsoever is brought upon thee take cheerfully, and be patient
when thou art changed to a low estate.
5 - For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace
                of
 adversity.
6 - "Believe in him, and he will help thee; order thy way
                aright, and
 trust in him. "
7 - "Ye that fear the Lord, wait for his mercy; and go not
                aside, lest
 ye fall. "
8 - "Ye that fear the Lord, believe him; and your reward
                shall not
 fail. "
9 - Ye that fear the Lord, hope for good, and for everlasting
                joy
 and mercy.
10 - "Look at the generations of old, and see; did ever any
                trust in
the Lord, and was confounded? or did any abide in his fear, and
was forsaken? or whom did he ever despise, that called upon him?"
11 - For the Lord is full of compassion and mercy, longsuffering,
and very pitiful, and forgiveth sins, and saveth in time of affliction.

misery, Jesus reveals His Body offered out of love for the

Our Father, give me today the Holy-Spirit, through Jesus-Christ
Our Lord, so that He may love in me, pray in me. Give Him

Thanks to Him, don't allow me to spend a single day without

Give me poor people to love today !
I want to love my brothers and sisters for their own sake

But also, since my heart is in your hand, nailed by the

them in my heart, You will be able to catch them, love them,

 for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

                85 Bow
down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor andneedy.
Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy
 servant that trusteth in thee.
Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift
 up my soul.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous
in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of
 my supplications.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt
 answer me.
Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither
are there any works like unto thy works.
All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship
before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God
 alone.
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my
 heart to fear thy name.
 | I
will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I willglorify thy name for evermore.
For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my
 soul from the lowest hell.
O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of
violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before
 them.
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious,
longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength

                50 Have
mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness:according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my
                transgressions.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before
                me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in
thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest,
                and be
 clear when thou judgest.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive
                me.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden
part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall
                be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast
                broken may rejoice.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within
                me.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit
                from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy
                free spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be
                converted unto thee.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation:
and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest
                not in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite
heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of
                Jerusalem.
Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,
with burnt offering and whole burnt offering
then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

 | Psalm
                41 As
the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after
thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come
                and appear before God?
My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually
say unto me, Where is thy God?
When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I
had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of
                God,
with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted
in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help
                of his countenance.
O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember
thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the
                hill Mizar.
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy
waves and thy billows are gone over me.
Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and
in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the
                God of my life.
I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go
I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they
say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted
within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is
the health of my countenance, and my God.

And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things;
 and holy is his name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him

 He hath shewed strength with his arm;
he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their

 He hath filled the hungry with good things;
and the rich he hath sent empty away.
He hath holpen his servant Israel,

myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned
of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.
Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.

                Jude 1, 20,25
"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our
Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
And of some have compassion, making a difference:
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating
even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present
you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding
                joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion
and power, both now and ever. Amen."

"I arise todayThrough a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through the belief in the threeness,
 Through confession of the oneness
 Of the Creator of Creation.
 I
arise todayThrough the strength of Christ's birth with his baptism,
Through the strength of his crucifixion with his burial,
Through the strength of his resurrection with his ascension,
Through the strength of his descent for the judgment of Doom.
 I
arise todayThrough the strength of the love of Cherubim,
 In obedience of angels,
 In the service of archangels,
In hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
 In prayers of patriarchs,
 In predictions of prophets,
 In preaching of apostles,
 In faith of confessors,
 In innocence of holy virgins,
 In deeds of righteous men.
 I
arise todayThrough the strength of heaven:
 Light of sun,
 Radiance of moon,
 Splendor of fire,
 Speed of lightning,
 Swiftness of wind,
 Depth of sea,
 Stability of earth,
 Firmness of rock.
    | I
arise todayThrough God's strength to pilot me:
 God's might to uphold me,
 God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
 God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
 God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
 God's shield to protect me,
 God's host to save me
 From snares of devils,
 From temptations of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
 Afar and anear,
 Alone and in multitude.
 I
summon today all these powers between me and those evils,Against every cruel merciless power that may oppose my body and

 Against incantations of false prophets,
 Against black laws of pagandom
 Against false laws of heretics,
 Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.

            | Psalm
                23 My
God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from
helping me, and from the words of my roaring? "O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and
in the night season, and am not silent. "
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver
                them.
They cried unto thee, and were delivered:
they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
"But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised
                of the people. "
All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip,
                they shake the head saying,
He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver
him, seeing he delighted in him.
But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make
me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's
                belly.
"Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none
                to help. "
Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset
                me round.
They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring
                lion.
"I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of
joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
                "
"My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth
to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. "
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed
me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee
                to help me.
"Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power
                of the dog. "
Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the
                horns of the unicorns.
I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the
                congregation will I praise thee.
"Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob,
glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. "
"For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of
the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when
he cried unto him, he heard. "
My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay
my vows before them that fear him.
The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD
that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD:
and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the
                nations.
All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they
that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep
                alive his own soul.
"A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord
                for a generation. "
They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people
that shall be born, that he hath done this.

 | Cantic
          of the cantics chap1"1
          - I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
2 - As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
3 - As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved
among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and
his fruit was sweet to my taste.
4 - He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was
          love.
5 - Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love.
6 - His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace
          me.
7 - I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the
hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he
          please.
8 - The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains,
          skipping upon the hills.
9 - My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind
our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the
          lattice.
10 - My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one,
          and come away.
11 - "For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; "
12 - "The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing
          of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
          "
13 - The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the
tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come
          away.
14 - "O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret
          places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice;
for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. "
15 - Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for
          our vines have tender grapes.
16 - My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.
17 - Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved,
and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.
 chap21
          - By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him,
          but I found him not.
2 - I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the
broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I
          found him not.
3 - The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw
ye him whom my soul loveth?
4 - It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom
my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought
him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived
          me.
5 - I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the
hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he
          please.
6 - Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke,
perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
7 - "Behold his bed, which is Solomon's; threescore valiant men
are about it, of the valiant of Israel. "
8 - They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword
upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
9 - King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon.
10 - He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold,
the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love,
          for the daughters of Jerusalem.
11 - Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with
the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals,
and in the day of the gladness of his heart."
 or
          Apocalypse 21-22 1
          - "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven
and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. "
2 - And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God
out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 - And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle
of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his
people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 - "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there
shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there
be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. "
5 - And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things
new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 - And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of
          the water of life freely.
7 - "He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be
his God, and he shall be my son. "
8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers,
and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall
have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which
          is the second death.
9 - And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven
vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come
hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10 - And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain,
and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of
          heaven from God,
11 - "Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone
most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; "
12 - And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the
gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names
of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 - "On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the
south three gates; and on the west three gates. "
14 - And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the
names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 - And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city,
and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 - And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the
breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs.
The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 - And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four
cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18 - And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city
was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 - "And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished
          with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper;
          the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
          "
 20 - "The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite;
the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the
eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. "
21 - "And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate
was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were
          transparent glass. "
22 - And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the
Lamb are the temple of it.
23 - And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine
in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light
          thereof.
24 - And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light
of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into
          it.
25 - And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there
          shall be no night there.
26 - And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 - And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth,
neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which
are written in the Lamb's book of life.
 1
          - And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal,
proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 - In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river,
was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and
yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the
          healing of the nations.
3 - "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and
of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: "
4 - "And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their
          foreheads. "
5 - "And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle,
neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they
shall reign for ever and ever. "
